The Children and Youth Ministries Director will work with the Children and Youth Ministry Team in program design and implementation, and will be responsible for the completion of all goals assigned to him/her. This position is held accountable by being under the supervision of the Pastor.
Responsibilities
• Communication/Coordination
o Communication of children’s ministry issues/concerns to the pastoral staff, session and congregation.
• Administration
o Recruitment, promotion, scheduling and administration of children’s education ministries (i.e. Sun. mornings, evening nights, etc.) and special ministries (camps, special events, etc.). Evaluate curriculum and effectiveness of Children's Ministries.
• Training/Equipping
o Supervision, training and ongoing development of paid and volunteer children’s ministry workers.
• Family Ministry
o Coordinate with and assist the Christian Education Committee in planning events and ministry for family interaction, outreach and nurture.
o Develop relationships with parents of involved children and youth to provide guidance in the whole family system as needed.
Relationships & Accountability
• Shall report to and serve under the direction of the senior pastor or his designee.
• Shall work in cooperation with the Christian Education Committee.
• Shall direct the ministry of paid and volunteer children’s ministry staff.
• Shall cultivate contacts with children and families in the congregation.
• Shall attend staff meetings, retreats and other functions.
• Shall cultivate contacts with other children’s ministers for encouragement and idea sharing.
• Shall support MVPC through relationships, attendance, and prayer.

• Assists the Pastor as needed.
