Associate Director of Youth Mission and Ministry - UPC

Accountability:  Supervised by the Pastor of Youth Mission and Ministry.

Responsibilities:
• Preach and teach at the Sunday morning and Wednesday night Rock.
• Participate in the hiring process of youth staff and assist in the management and shepherding of staff including: supervision of the Rock ministry coordinator and interns.
• Recruit and shepherd YMM (Rock) sponsors in personal ministry/leadership development.
• Meet with junior high students (7th – 8th grade) one on one or in small groups.
• Assist in leadership and teaching in Foundations (9th grade) class.
• Provide support for YMM parents through counseling, prayer and pertinent referrals.
• Plan and oversee Rock ministry including: mission trips, events, camps, retreats and community-building activities.
• Assist the Pastor of YMM with the oversight of day-to-day programs (YMM weekly staff gatherings, YMM retreats and elder department meetings).
• Other responsibilities as assigned by Pastor of YMM.

Qualifications:
• A vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and a willingness to grow and learn.
• A Bachelors or other relevant degree. 
• Experience in church-based youth ministry context, preferably one that has a number of specialized programs.
• Strong team-building and program development skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and public communication skills.
• Working knowledge of PC desktop applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Publisher).
• Ability to connect with people of different generations and backgrounds.
• Willingness to try new things; flexibility to adapt in an active and changing environment.
• Desire to serve junior high students and their families.

Work schedule:  This is a full-time, fully benefited position.

Salary: Commensurate with ability and experience and equitable within the UPC salary structure.
