Note from Jerry Poole Tuesday, September 11, 2007 (183 reads)

It happened again last weekend on the volleyball court. Polly and I were attending a small college volleyball match at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. The server positioned herself for the shot. She then hit the ball overhand, hard. The ball barely cleared the net as it shot toward one of the three back row defensive players on the opposing team.
Toward which player would she aim? Toward the weakest one, of course. Let the stronger players stand there idle. Keep them away from the ball! Send the ball as forcefully as possible toward the weaker player in hopes that she will sooner or later make an error that will add to our team's point total.
