In 2006, the need-based financial aid funds were exhausted by March. By that time over $1,000,000 had been distributed to students. Looking forward to the fall of 2006, some 22 students either have had to postpone seminary or have had to take out student loans from other sources.
While this information pertains to Pittsburgh, similar situations face students in each of the other nine Presbyterian Seminaries. The funding of Theological Education by the congregations in the Seattle Presbytery is very important to the students. Rembember TEF as the year draws to a close. Remit TEF contributions, clearly marked, to the Presbytery office for accurate forwarding to the Central Receiving Agency.
