Message from Interim EP Jerry Poole, November 2007

For our nearby Presbytery Executives.  Recently Lynn Longfield of Olympia,  Corey Schlosser Hall, of North Puget Sound and Joyce Emery, our Synod Transitional Executive, and I met for productive conversations (as we try to do bi- monthly) and ended our time with prayer for each other.  I wish I could say that such attention to holy matters has been routine, but at least I can say that though such attention is never routine, it is a privilege now in these days to bring one another’s joys and concerns to God in prayer.

For presbytery officers (moderator Randy VM Pete) the presbytery staff, for Presbytery’s ruling elders and teaching elders (ministers), for our Commissioned lay pastors.  Pray that all will devote themselves to staying close to God, to living balanced lives and hold them accountable for the privilege of their service.

For our presbytery meeting coming up on the twentieth at Lake City Pres that all who attend will be blessed by God and will be a blessing to one another in their participation.  (Join us and hear outgoing Moderator Randy’s sermon)

For my family with their service and ministry through Stevens Hospital, Lake City Pres, UW, UPC and PLU.

As I close I want to urge you to keep praying for two-year-old Ben Towne, of UPC, who battles neuroblastoma, for his sister or brother soon to enter the world, and his family.  If you want to do more for Ben, donate blood.  Pray for John Tripp of FPC Bellevue, who has survived successful surgery to remove a malignant tumor and who has months of treatment in front of him, and for his family.

In His Grip,
Jerry
